What a BAD weekend for Owls baseball! Getting swept at home by a 3-3 UCONN, pretty badly too, not good.

Yeah, hopefully it is a good wake-up call for them to bounce back by taking down the Gators tomorrow and Wednesday

Valdez powered his way to C-USA Hitter of the Week, hitting .429 (9-for-21) with three home runs, eight RBI, six runs scored and drawing four walks. In UTSA’s 2-1 win over UIW on Wednesday, Valdez stole home in the bottom of the eighth to claim the one-run win. The senior infielder tallied three multi-hit games in the Roadrunners 4-1 week, including a 4-for-6 day on Saturday and a 3-for-5 performance on Sunday. In the 11-5 win over Utah on Saturday, Valdez launched his first home run of the season to tie the game up and kickstarting the UTSA offense. On Sunday, two out of his three hits were via the long ball while collecting five RBI in the series clinching win. He currently leads C-USA in hits (23) and RBI (22).
Walton was terrific on the mound in his start on Sunday afternoon earning his first win of the season as the Blazers salvaged the series finale with 2022 CWS participant, Notre Dame, 5-2. The right-hander pitched into the final frame going 8.1 innings allowing just four hits, two earned runs, one walk and fanning a career-high eight batters. On two different occasions, Walton struck out the side. He also held the Fighting Irish to an incredible .138 batting average in his 32 batters faced. Walton’s 8.1 innings is the longest outing this year by a C-USA pitcher.
