Following standout performances this week, DBU outfielder Jace Grady and Charlotte RHP Cameron Hansen earned C-USA weekly honors.

Grady was stellar at the plate in DBU’s 4-0 mark last week after hitting .533 (8-for-15) with three home runs, two doubles and eight RBI. The junior leadoff man led the Patriot offense in seven different categories including a 1.267 slugging percentage, 19 total bases, seven runs and four walks. Grady homered on Tuesday night in the first inning against UT Arlington and would homer again on Friday as part of a three-hit performance against Louisiana Tech. Grady, then hit a home run in his third straight game on Saturday as DBU set a program record with their 13th straight victory. On Sunday, Grady broke a 3-3 tie with a RBI single that would lead DBU to a series sweep of LA Tech.

Hansen earns his second Pitcher of the Week honors as he nearly tossed a no-hitter on Sunday afternoon. The sophomore right-hander took a no-hitter into the ninth inning until giving up a single with one out. Hansen finished with 8.1 innings of work with a career-high 10 punchouts while allowing one hit and one walk. After a leadoff walk in the second, Hansen retired 21 consecutive batters. He is now 3-0 on Sundays with a 0.38 ERA in 24 innings and a remarkable .077 opponent batting average. Hansen ranks fourth in C-USA in ERA (2.88).

Following standout performances this week, WKU centerfielder Ty Crittenberger and UAB RHP Brooks Walton earned C-USA weekly honors.

Crittenberger was a spark plug all week in the leadoff spot for the Hilltoppers going 8-for-16 in four games as they swept their second straight C-USA series. The junior centerfielder recorded three multi-hit games over the weekend against Charlotte while totaling eight runs, five RBI and five stolen bases. In Friday’s win, he was 2-for-5 with three stolen bases while he notched two more hits on Saturday with a double and a RBI. On Sunday, he collected a three-hit day with three runs and two RBI. Crittenberger is top five in C-USA in runs (46), hits (59) and doubles (13), while being tied for first in stolen bases (18).

For the second time in 2023, Walton has been named Pitcher of the Week after hurling a complete game on Friday night against 25th-ranked UTSA. The senior right-hander scattered just two solo shots coming in the sixth and ninth inning while allowing four hits on the day and fanning three Roadrunner batters. Walton was perfect through the first four innings of work and his performance marks the second time this season he has pitched into the final frame.

Meanwhile Nolan Schanuel gets SNUBBED with a ridiculous line that tops Crittenberger, so he gets our award.
