Following standout performances this week, DBU centerfielder Nathan Humphreys and Florida Atlantic RHP Robert Wegielnik earned C-USA weekly honors.

Humphreys becomes the third DBU player to earn C-USA Hitter of the Week honors after hitting .556 (10-for-18) with five home runs, 10 RBI and a 1.389 slugging percentage in the Patriots’ four games last week. After launching his first of five home runs on Tuesday versus Oklahoma, the sophomore centerfielder had a career-day with three long balls and five RBI as part of a four-hit game on Saturday. In the series finale, Humphreys homered again going 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Wegielnik was nails out of the Owl bullpen in Friday and Saturday’s come-from-behind wins at Charlotte. On Friday, the senior right-hander pitched out of a bases loaded jam with no outs in the eighth inning and earned the win as FAU took the lead in the top of the ninth. In similar fashion on Saturday, Wegielnik got himself out of another bases loaded jam and paved the way for the offense to take the lead in the ninth. In his two appearances in the late innings, he tossed 3.2 innings allowing no hits, no runs and fanned five.
