Series: UM leads 68-20 all-time. The Owls dropped both previous 2022 meetings.
Projected Starting Pitchers:

MIA- RHP Jake Garland (5-1, 2.17 ERA)
Owl Notables
FAU has managed just two runs in two meetings against Miami so far in 2022. This is 6.75 runs less than their average per outing. While there have been runners left on base in both contests, it's not an exorbitant amount at eleven between the two games combined (5, 6).
Hits have also been scarce, with Miami two-hitting FAU last time out in Coral Gables. However, Florida Atlantic did double that tally in their home effort. With a single and double to his credit, Jackson Ross is the lone Owl to collect more than one hit so far in the series, while Nolan Schanuel, Dylan Goldstein, Steven Loden, and Jalen DeBose each have one to account for the rest.
The biggest issue in the most recent meeting were the nine walks issued by the Owls' staff in Boca Raton on March 23rd. That ended up being a platoon game as Nicholas Del Prado tossed 66 pitches in a 3.1 inning effort, while Miami starter Zack Garland threw one pitch less over six full frames.
FAU has had their share of battles against top ranked opponents over the years, and now finds themselves in the throws again with Miami moving up to number two. While it is certainly a challenge, there have been upsets realized by the Owls. The most recent was a 7-4 set down of #1 Florida in the 2018 Gainesville regional in what was FAU's 4th game of the tournament.
Hurricanes Notables
Miami is in the midst of a 12 game win streak that ironically started against FAU back on March 23rd. Since then the Canes have rattled off series sweeps against North Carolina, Duke, Florida Gulf Coast, and Virginia. Throw in a lopsided 17-1 drubbing of FIU and the eye-catching run is complete.
The sweep of the Cavaliers has vaulted Miami into the number two spot nationally with multiple polls placing them there. Essentially each time they will have played the Owls they will have climbed.
The Hurricanes will start RHP Jake Garland again on Tuesday. Garland threw six innings of three-hit, one run ball in the last meeting in Boca Raton. However he failed to record a strike out.

Boully (1.1IP, 3H, 2R, 2BB, 1K) runs into trouble and exits.
Marc DeGusipe steps in to complete the side.
But Miami plates a pair to tie it up.

Rincones makes a spectacular catch in the 3rd, laying out and then throwing back to first for the rare 8-1 double play.
DeGusipe tosses 2.0 innings of two hit ball against the #2 team in the land. Can't ask for much more than that.
Dylan Goldstein guns down a runner at the plate in the 4th from left field to keep it tied in Coral Gables.

FAU plates 4 Runs off of 4 Hits and a pair of Miami errors.

The Canes see the Owls return favor as a one out single with two on plates two aided by a Florida Atlantic error.
A walk from FAU RP Max Martzolf places runners on the corners for Miami, but he escapes with an infield pop-up.

Martzolf runs into some trouble with a two on two out situation after a couple of walks.
Coach Mac taps the pen in favor of Robert Wegielnik, who entices a routine pop-up to right that would have ended the threat, but Kelder can't haul it in and the Canes score a run to make it a run one game.
That obviously rattled him, as he hits a batter, then issues a wild pitch to see the Canes tie it up.
A chopper to short is too tough to field for FAU, and they beat it out to plate another and take the lead.
