Quick scheduling scenario update for FAU.

If DBU holds on to defeat WKU tonight, the Owls will face the Hilltoppers again tomorrow in the elimination game.

Should FAU win that contest, they would need to beat DBU twice on Saturday to make it to the Championship game.

Should WKU come back to beat DBU, FAU would face the Patriots in the elimination game and if victorious would then need to beat WKU twice Saturday.

MTSU has an incredible seeding advantage the entire way. They would not face DBU at all unless they get to the Championship. And they only need to beat either Charlotte or La Tech once to get there and have two chances to do so.

Lesson learned is seed two or seven is the best seed to have in an eight seed tournament, as you avoid the first seed the entire way no matter the outcomes.

That, and winning the first two games is a HUGE advantage.

The Patriots locked down the Hilltoppers to clinch the win and conclude the final game of day two of the 2023 Conference USA Baseball Championship on Thursday night. With the victory, Dallas Baptist will get a day of rest to prepare for their next opponent on May 27 at 1:30 PM to compete for a spot in the championship game.

FAU and WKU will now play a rematch on Friday at 6:30 PM, fighting for the privilege to be one of the last four teams standing in the C-USA Tournament.
