Owl Notables
The Owls will have four more contests before heading out on the road and into league action for a trio versus Southern Miss in what could be a fiery series. For now, and as a final tune-up, Sacred Heart will face the Owls, before a mid-week meeting with North Dakota State next Tuesday night.
FAU pounded out a season high 20 hits Tuesday in a short trip to Port Charlotte which saw them upend Seton Hall 19-6. Six different players had homers in the affair, led by Gabe Rincones pair which moved him to a team high six on the season.
Third baseman Jackson Ross (.377) enjoys a narrow .003 edge over second baseman Steven Loden (.374) for the best average mark.

With how well things have been going there is it somewhat safe to assume that the original plans which had Schanuel driving the hot corner may be scaled back, or all together abandoned.
The Sunday starter for the Owls remains an announcement to be made, however it may be safe to assume that Tyler Burnham factors into the equation again. Burnham has some solid stuff to offer, as shown by his four strikeouts last weekend, and once the control settles in may be a viable rotation contributor.
Pioneer Notables
Sacred Heart is enduring a slow start to non conference play, dropping 9-of-10 out of the gate, with the last five tilts being played in the Sunshine State. Stetson took all three games from the Pioneers (7-1, 13-4, 13-4) last week, however two contests against Bethune Cookman were just one run set backs(4-5, 6-7). The squad's lone win was at Stony Brook.
The Pioneers are hitting just .204 as a team. Infielders Dante D'amore (.333) and Michael Hernandez (.273) are leading the way at the plate overall. The team has 17 doubles to thier credit, no triples, and just two homers on the season thus far.
Sunday starter Jake Babushak has notched a team high 11 strikeouts in 12 innings of play. Reliver Owen MacDonnell isn't far behind with 10 set downs in eight innings of work over four appearances.
Coming off a third-place regular season finish with a 17-10 record, Sacred Heart was picked to finish in the same spot by the Northeast Conference head coaches in the 2022 Preseason Coaches' Poll.

Very surprising that there were no homers hit today for FAU, as the wind was CRANKING out at 30+ MPH for a good part of the game. However, the Pioneers did have one of their own.
