The Owls offense came to life, scoring nine runs in the first three innings and collecting a 14-9 victory. Sam Lowe was the star of the show tonight, driving in five runs and falling just a double short of the cycle.

The Rundown
  • Sam Low was dominant in this game, hitting 4-4 with 5 RBIs, including a grand slam that gave the Owls the insurance runs they needed to win the ball game.
  • B.J. Murray hit 3-4 and drove in three runs, including a two-run home run.
  • Nolan Schanuel was on his game today, hitting 2-3 with two RBIs.
  • Wilfredo Alvarez was solid at the plate, hitting 3-4 and driving in one run.
  • Javi Rivera got his first win of the season. He only allowed one hit, no walks, and no runs with two strikeouts in two innings of work.
  • Bobby Morgensen is questionable to return to the lineup for Tuesday's game against Miami, while Jacob Josey is slated to return to the rotation next week vs Indiana State per Coach Mac.

"The mindset was to win: to get back out there and reel it back in. We did a good job at that, getting six runs in the first. We did exactly what we needed to do." -head coach John McCormack

The Owls will be back in action on Tuesday, March 9th at the University of Miami. First pitch will be at 6:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ACCN+.
