Let’s see if that top half of the order can do more damage for the Owls and get some insurance runs. 💪

Great win. The comeback kids are at it again….and the game ended before midnight. 😎
It isn’t always pretty but they always fight and claw until the final out. Love to see it.
The FAU Baseball team was down 8-0 in the second inning, but they certainly weren't out. Backed by a seven-run fourth inning and a grand slam by freshman outfielder Victor Castillo, the Owls fought their way back into the ballgame and took the victory right from the grasp of the FGCU Eagles, winning 13-11.
The Rundown
- Simply put, this comeback doesn't happen without the contributions of freshman outfielder Victor Castillo. He came through for the Owls when they needed him the most, hitting a crucial grand slam to give them a 9-8 lead. He finished the game 1-4 with 5 RBIs.
- Despite a subpar performance on the mound, giving up 5 runs, 3 hits, and 2 home runs in one inning, pitcher/designated hitter Mitchell Hartigan bounced back from that performance with his performance at the plate. He was 3-for-5 with 3 RBIs.
- Third baseman B.J. Murray also headlined the Owls' bats, hitting 3-5 with two RBIs.
- Pitcher Braden Ostrander is emerging as FAU's new closer. He pitched two scoreless innings to close out the game, only allowing one hit.
- Pitcher Dylan O'Connell earned the win for the Owls, pitching two innings of scoreless ball without giving up a single hit, only walking two batters.
- The Owls win the season series with the FGCU Eagles 3-1, despite only holding a 30-29 advantage in runs scored in the four game series.
FAU will return to action on Friday, April 2, when they travel to Charlotte to start a four-game weekend set against the 49ers. First pitch will be at 6:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on C-USA TV.
