FAU QB Recruit Vidal Woodruff
"FAU and Air Force are interested and I'm planning to take officials to both," the 6-2, 220-pounder said. "FAU came to our school recently and said they like my size and my highlight film."
Woodruff has the body-type and athletic skills to play several next-level positions if necessary, but says the Owls and Falcons both want him to stay at signal-caller.
"Air Force basically said the same thing as FAU," he recalled. "They like my athleticism and feel I would do good running and passing in their offense."
Woodruff was largely-responsible for Carrollwood Day's 10-2 season, completing greater than 61% of his passes for 1,652 yards with 25 touchdowns (vs. eight picks).
He was also second on the team in rushing and accounted for seven scores via the ground.
The senior was red-hot in his squad's 56-35 shootout victory vs. Bradenton Christian, connecting on 10-of-12 throws for 329 yards and five TDs. Woodruff also ran for six points in that game.
The Patriots reached round two of the state Class 2A playoffs (lost to First Baptist Academy).
"My position strength is my smarts," Woodruff said. "I make very good decisions. I pride myself in protecting the ball well, and driving the ball well."
Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

What ever happened to DJ Juste ? I thought we were interested in him ?
Owls are still after Juste, he will visit on January 11th.
It was reported by Chris Nee of 247 Sports today that he will also visit Georgia Southern on January 25th. I believe that they also want him to play QB, which he told me a while back was intriguing.

If you want to know the impact of coach Diersen departing, Woodruff hasn't heard from the Owls since he left.
Well… didn't you say this is the dead period and coaches can't contact players anyway?
In Diersen's absence, would his "case" be transferred over to Brian Wright as the QB coach?

Yes this is all true, I was just pointing it out. Players can call coaches and email them.
