To Mark, Congrats on the trip to Auburn, if you need a traveling partner for the 2nd seat I can make myself available. ;)
Thank you! I actually feel a little guilty about getting that trip. No one was bidding on it and it is worth so much more. Maybe if I wasn't involved every year with the Basketball fundraiser, I would feel differently. But the goal is to raise funds, not to let someone steal a trip or a gift for a great price.
A fundraiser is a tricky thing. You have 3 minutes to sell a great item and if you have a small crowd, you may lose out.
There may be some people out there willing to pay 5-10 times that, but they were not in the room. I am tossing around the idea of selling it and giving the money to the program. I have the luxury of having 8 months to find someone, not just 3 minutes. Then if there are no takers, I get to go on a great trip for a great price and know that I tried.
