Moving on. I've already forgotten about him.

Re: How Can FAU Fans Help Land 4-Star DT Keith Bryant?

Last night Bryant tweeted:

Keith Bryant ?@BasedBoyKeith97

Fau good luck vs Miami hurricanes 1st game of the season #SmhLunchTime

Oh please.  This kid came to FAU and took the place of another kid that could have used that visit with ZERO intention of ever committing here.  He got caught….the least he could do is show some class and leave quietly.  If I'm another program chasing this kid, I'd think long and hard about handing a scholarship to someone who would act this way towards another program.

+1

We don't need clowns like this on our team. He's prob gonna be the type of player that never lives up to his potential because he's not fully invested into the game. You think someone that was fully invested into football would pull a move like this?

There's nothing we can do because he's not going to sign with us. He said he already knows where he's going. I think he ends up at Miami or some other school other than FSU, UM, or South Carolina.
You narrowed the list with this one

Well, he said he's narrowed it down to those 4. Like I said, I think he chooses a school that's not on his "list"

Kids don't pick schools they didn't take an official visit to.  It just doesn't happen.

Kids also don't take official visits and not show up when they're supposed to. This kid is jerking every one around and he loves that everyone wants him. He said he's goong to do something no one else has done before at his announcement so maybe he's never taken an official visit someplace that he's going to commit to.

Actually, this happens often.  Kids cancel and/or no-show quite a bit.

Many of you should take your advice about class.  You're talking about an 18 year old kid that was trying to help a friend out.  I'm sure everyone here was wrapped perfectly, squared away and had all the answers at 18.

Come on.  Age is no excuse in this case.  18 is plenty old enough to act in a respectful manner.

Taking the visit for his friend is admirable.  Showing up late and not taking the visit seriously…then tweeting negatively about FAU after getting kicked out is him being an immature jerk…no matter how old he is.

While he should of been more mature about this, we all knew what we were getting into before this started...It is just unfortunate that his friend is the big loser in all this even though I think I read on the other site he would still like to commit.

I don't know if his friend is a "loser" in all of this, we may actually be the winner.  Thinking about this more, it may be a good thing this happened.  It certainly appears that his friend is a follower and not a leader.  He was going along with everything Keith was doing, rather than paying attention and being involved in the visit as well.  Someone mentioned character, do you want someone that is their own man or one that will just go along with everyone else?

Also, don't get so bent about Keith.  Sure his actions were immature, but anyone that truly believed we had a shot was only kidding themselves.  This is the FIRST **** recruit we have ever had visit.  Think about that and then seriously consider what we have to offer.  The answer is, not much.  Don't start with the chance to be a part of something big crap, 4 star kids want to WIN and WIN NOW!  If we were coming off a Fiesta Bowl upset a la Boise State, then you have something to sell.

Right now we are a losing program in transition with crappy facilities other than the stadium.  We need a new weight room, new academic center, new everything.

Let's take this in stride and continue to build momentum towards winning and improving the on campus experience for these kids and hopefully, some day, we get ONE kid to sign and move forward there.

It's nice to have pride in your school and want the best, but there needs to be level set expectations about what our reality is now and in the short term future.  This program, to be successful in the long run, must be built on the backs of 2 & 3* recruits along with an alumni base that does more than bitch on an internet forum.

Speak no ill will of the kid, for that is what he is, a kid.

If he maintains the same type of attitude throughout his career it will hurt him in the long run. I wish him the best of luck at wherever he lands.

I am proud of the FAU staff for pulling the trigger early. We have a good class already and Bryant would of been icing on the cake. If they saw something they didnt like from him then they did the right thing.

FAU is trying to no longer be the "fallback" for talented student athletes. We want to be the first choice.

I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

Who's bitching?  This isn't about him not coming to FAU.  I had no expectation that he was coming here.  I also didn't really care if he came here or not.  What I do expect is that if someone (any level of prospect) agrees to take a visit, they at least respect the coaches and the University enough to take the trip seriously.  It's really for their benefit.  You don't know who you are going to end up working for or with one day or who's help you may need.  Coaches talk and being a likeable person can go a long way.  Acting like a nice human being isn't a lot to ask of somebody…even an 18 year old.
