Looking to provide a boost to their depth at tight end, Florida Atlantic football went down south to acquire the services of Miami tight end Kahlil Brantley, who will transfer to Boca Raton.

Brantley is the second tight end to commit to FAU via the transfer portal, joining Jackson Sumlin (Oklahoma) in the process. He played behind Will Mallory, who went on to be selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He did get some playing time with the Hurricanes during the 2021 campaign, making his first career reception for seven yards against Central Connecticut State as he appeared in two more contests against Georgia Tech and Florida State.

He was seen as a consensus three-star prospect by ESPN, 247Sports, and Rivals during his time at Northwestern High School. 247Sports listed him the 33rd-best tight end nationally and the 79th-best player in Florida.

Some of his highlights from high school can be seen below:

Before enrolling at Miami in 2021, Brantley garnered offers from the likes of Ole Miss, Oregon, Pittsburgh, and Maryland.

Joining the Owls nearly a month after entering the transfer portal on April 15, Brantley is expected to be in the mix for a starting spot at tight end alongside Carter Boatwright and Jackson Sumlin.
