I had a friend in high school who was a D-1 TE and I saw him run a 4.64 so who even said a 4.71 was that fast.Rick said
I can't believe I'm arguing 40 times for a JUCO TE who had 15 grabs in two years and no other known offers. But Rick thinks he's fast and Charlie coached a good DE at power 5 school so this kid must be good.

It's ok bro, no one is arguing (maybe you are. though).
I'm just having a discussion and disagree with your assessment because you're basing everything off of stats. Have you ever seen the kid play?
I stand by my claim that his 40 time is quick for a 6-6, 255 pound man at this level of play - nothing more nothing less.
Done now…enjoy your day!

I also heard you had a girlfriend who lives out of town north of Buffalo, but no one has ever seen her.

"Chandler was one of our most sought after players this season. He garnered at least some interest from LSU, Ole Miss, Illinois, and Purdue among others."
"Chandler's statistics in two seasons at Northeast were 12 catches, 121 yards and two touchdowns. Don't let those numbers fool you though. Our tight ends served in a blocking role under the offensive system that our previous head coach ran these past two seasons."
"Chandler's 6-6 frame allows for some favorable head-to-head matchups at tight end. He has great hands and is very athletic. He was a wide receiver in high school so the tight end position was new to him and he increased his skills as a blocker during both of his two years here."
We now return you to regularly scheduled programming.

I'm glad the sports director at his school tells us he's good and none of those others schools sent out known offers.Rick said
This just in from Blake Long, Sports Information Director at Northeast Mississippi Community College:

All I'm doing is being skeptical of the TE who has 12 grabs. Not saying he won't be good or the fact he will just come here and block until Terry is ready.
Sorry I don't drink the #fab15 #wintoday #huge!!!
Until this staff shows it can win I'm not going to just put my blind faith into them like you guys do.
Then again you always out blind faith into Howard's recruiting and he hit on about 15 players in his last 4 classes.

The most interesting part out of that year at the combine, is that out of the 14 tight ends that ran, 11 of them had slower 40 times than what had been reported in high school. Basically, the high school 40 time is useless. That is unless someone is a track athlete or they are competing at a combine-style event (with laser timing) like The Opening.
The No. 1 TE in the Class of 2015 - according to 247Sports – Aliz'e Jones clocked a 4.67 at The Opening. Josh Sweat - a 6-foot-5, 240-pound - defensive end ran a 4.46 that same day. Those are fast, and we know that they are real times.
Not saying Dexter isn't quick, but no one knows when or where that 4.84 was ran. Was it at Tishomingo County High three years ago with a coach and a stop watch? Or does Northeast Mississippi C.C. bust out the laser timing every spring? We don't know.
I just think it is premature to label a prospect fast or not, when no one here has seen him play. Hopefully he is quick, and once Partridge gets him eating right and training with the strength staff he will be even faster.

Well it's funny you say that because a 6'5 255lb TE came out of this school two years ago and went to LSU……he had zero catchs there in two years.GeorgiaOwl said
Can he run block, run routes and CATCH the ball is what really matters. His size is a real plus!Posted On: Dec 12th 2014, 9:29 PM #339646

It is obviously a numbers game with 85 (mostly 4 and 5's), the 3's are mostly there for depth but if you consider 15 to 20 4 and 5* commits a year, that leaves little room for those below to play when ya think 22 starters and 22 back-ups, that is 44 of your 85 schollys plus 20 or so walk-ons!
