Rivals updates ratings!

Am I reading this right?

10 3 stars this year for FAU compared to

10 3 stars for FAU over the last 8 years combined?

Wow!

The old regime was always hunting for diamonds in the rough, and early on they did the leg work to make it happen. Thats why many of us were not fond of the star system, it isn't always good at the low end of the spectrum.

On a side note I think this class has more JUCO commits then weve had for the entire history of the program.

I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

I love Coach P. recruiting plan... He went after JUCO studs to help us the next 2 years while the herd of recruits he gets develops.

You'd have to read the posts under the topic "Stadium" to realize why.  While Pelini and staff have been working hard, that stadium makes any of this possible.

Well, I am pumped, I think coach P and staff have done better than expected recruiting given the time frame they had. This is beginning to look like the start of something big. I think that the program is on the rise and I can't wait for spring ball to start.

Agreed! + 1 as Rick would say. There's no chance we land any of these kids if we're still at Lockhart. These kids are taken to the coach's suite in the tower and shown the Atlantic Ocean. They can be sold on starting a winning tradition here and really making their mark on the new stadium.

Players can start to feel a sense of pride in defending THEIR stadium, not some dump in the warehouse district of Ft. Lauderdale

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

There is no question - facilities make a huge difference.

Education, facilities, location, coaches, tradition, winning potential, family, and other factors all matter and they are all weighed on each recruit's value system.  It is an interesting process for sure.

Can you imagine if we revamp our training facilities?

I was in shock of how much a mess the Oxley center had become since I graduated.  They need to stop holding classes in there and revamp the weight room immediately…its a disgrace.  Just a selling point other programs have over ours.

I was under the impression that The Oxley was a decent training facility and in the top of the 'Belt.

I even remember a few fans commenting on picutres of it that it was very nice.

How has it declined? Im sure there have been some innovations in technology but if it was good before it still should be acceptable now.

I just toured the facility a few months ago with the Runningbacks Coach David Serna.  It was a complete mess.  The flooring in old and cheap.  Most of the rooms have old beat up desks in them.  The weight room is WAY too small and they have let outside companies rent it out to do training for kids….the weight room at a program like ours should be for our athletes ONLY.  They cut down the budget for janitors so there was garabage everywhere.

They need to revamp it badly.
