Kids need to realize where they are really wanted and where they have the best chance to succeed.
The only way we compete with UM for recruits is our top recruits become their bottom recruit.

My original points were supposed to highlight the fact that one of our top recruits would be UM's bottom recruits. Instead of being a practice/special-teams player at a school like Miami, he could have been a star at FAU.

I believe what you are really saying is that youth is wasted on the young.

Totally agree with you, back up, special teams or even just scout team at the U vs. starting and going for all CUSA here. But these kid's are lied to everyday by millionaire coaches trying to fill their roster.

No way that kid would have become a star here or starts over guys like AL, or Nate
UM back up doesn't mean C-USA Star think about how many payers transfer from power 5 programs to G-5 and never really heard of again.

Oh yeah. I mean it's their job to fill the roster but it's certainly not their job to lie. And they definitely like to make it out like Miami is your only chance to live the South Florida lifestyle, like FAU and FIU don't even exist.

I can't get over the fact that a kid and his family would choose UM over FAU when our coaches are telling them for months how badly we want them and Miami makes a last minute desperation phone call and kids fall for it.
Everybody wants to feel like they have a chance with the Prom Queen.

I'm sorry but if this kid was this poor at UM he wouldn't have done that well here either.

Excellent point.

Just a note, UM is a great school academically as well, a full-ride there is worth a lot more than a full-ride at FAU. Not saying that is why this individual chose UM over FAU or else he wouldn't be leaving but I don't think it's a big surprise that someone would take a late offer from UM over FAU.Posted On: Jun 24th 2016, 11:18 AM #356842
You're right. Miami has made a name for itself. President Kelly's interest in raising FAU's academic star will actually help recruiting too in time.
