Not a wasted season. We go 6-6, we don't get Kiff. 2016 will be the year that changed FAU.

Are you seriously thinking Driskel is on the same level as Johnson, c'mon man!

One was most likely going to be the starter for FSU and they other had to battle to start at FAU, APPLES and oranges.

GO OWLS!

I certainly hope Johnson is as good as advertised but ever since Melvin German, uh, Melvin German'd me I hold out on these JUCO QBs.

But if he was going to be a starter at FSU and he still has that talent, I think he can do big things here.

You know what I would have been happy to go 6-6. It would have meant Coach Partridge had improved the team and we would be in a bowl game and we would be likely looking at 7 or 8 wins anyway.

Whichever starts, we will have a much better back-up QB situation next year!

People develop differently at different times.

Same level in terms of raw athletic ability?  No.  But there are many dynamics to the QB position.  Reading coverage, leadership, ability to learn the playbook, fit in the offense, football IQ,  etc.

We will see, all I am saying is Driskell grew a lot last year and may have the goods to keep his job.

Just because a kid recieved a scholarship from FSU doesn't automatically make him better than a kid at FAU.  We have had many players in the past that could've started at FSU as juniors and seniors.

It is not apples vs. oranges when you compare our starting players in a lot of scenarios.  Mostly, its apples vs. oranges in terms of depth.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

I like Driskell. If he does beat out johnson I think it means he drastically improved over the off season.

If johnson wasn't getting here in the spring it would be a much better chance he could win it. But I have a hard time seeing it happen with johnson having the whole off season to get ready.

Until driskel learns to put some touch on passes he has a long way to go.

I am not anti Driskel, I agree he improved but I couldn't disagree more on the statement regarding the FSU scholarship.  Actually it does to virtually everyone.

I agree with the depth issue but to say Johnson and Driskel are equals is crazy IMO.

GO OWLS!

i'm with Dusky on this one. Most kids at FSU are better athletes on day one. Yes, a couple FAU kids will develop and surprise. But I will go out,on a limb and say site unseen, Johnson is better than every QB we currently have.Morris , Housler, etc ,,all, surprises. FSU has guys that come in studs waiting to play on Sundays.

We've obviously heard a lot about what this kid did and how he compares to our QB recruits.

But of all the things, his EMCC highlight tape plus the fact that he apparently didn't lose a single game that he started there makes me the most excited about him.

My only question is the receivers here vs there. If he's throwing to 4 and 5th star guys there, they adjust the routes and make the plays that our guys are still figuring out. But again, that's IF the receiving corps at EMCC is better than ours. I think we have talent developing, just where they've at and how good they are with the new HC/OC/WR coaches remains to be seen.
