Despite FAU's coaches moving towards a strategy of more high school player dominated classes, the Owls will still need to find some gems in the Junior College and prep school ranks to fill in high need areas on the roster.

Here are some of FAU's top Junior college and Prep school targets:

Jeremy Flax OT 6-6'', 320 lbs - The Independence Community College offensive tackle recruitment has blown up in recent months, picking up over a dozen reported offers. FAU joined the race just this past week with an offer as they need to try and find a replacement for All-Conference USA tackle, Brandon Walton, who will have used all of his eligibility. Independence does not have any bye weeks remaining on their 2019 schedule, so Coach Kiffin and his staff will have to get Flax on campus in December to have a chance to land the 3-star prospect.

Cameron Orr OT 6-7'', 300 lbs- FAU offensive line coach Jeff Norrid recently offered the Itawamba Comunity College 3-star product, joining a host of other G5 schools. Orr told FAUOwlsnest, he plans on taking an official visit to Boca in December after his season ends.

Alante Brown WR 5-10'', 180lbs - This name might be familiar to many FAU fans as the highly ranked 3-star athlete had FAU in its top three with Texas Tech and FSU the night before the February 2019 signing day. Brown ultimately selected the Red Raiders but did not academically qualify and chose to attend prep school at St.Thomas More Prep in Connecticut. Brown has remained in contact with FAU's staff but again drawn interest from multiple schools, gaining offers from Indiana, Temple, and Michigan State to name a few.

Latrell Bankston DT 6-1'', 285 lbs - The Owls are losing 6 of their top 8 defensive linemen to graduation after the 2019 season. Possibly adding players like Bankston will help in preventing a drop off going into next season. FAU offered the 3 star Hutchison Community college product back in July, Bankston told FAUOwlsnest, "they're high on my list as of now," when asked where FAU stands in his recruitment. Bankston's recruitment has gained momentum picking up multiple P5 offers and taking official visits to Oregon State and Iowa State.

Jason Brownlee WR 6-3'', 185 lbs - The East Mississippi sophomore (pictured above) has already put up 33 receptions and 6 touchdowns in 5 games this season and has drawn the interest of former East Mississippi coach and current FAU tight ends coach Clint Trickett. Brownlee has picked up other offers to Liberty, Charlotte, and Western Kentucky.

The Owls will look to have any Junior or Prep school targets signed in the early signing period on December 18th, 2019.

For those who do not know the difference between prep schools and a JUCO.

Prep schools are great as do not count against eligibility.
Players mostly spend just a semester at them to get their GPA up or pass a needed class.
They are good because they prepare kids for school and give them the extra physical development year.

The issue is most prep schools are expensive and it’s very rare they give full rides.
