Fort Lauderdale, FL - Defending 5A state champs Cardinal Gibbons high school had a dominating 48-6 victory over Piper high school. Wide receiver Majon Wright (photo right) only had two catches as reserves played much of the game, but the 6-3'' 200 lbs framed three-star receiver was hard to ignore whenever he stepped on the field.
Wright, who visited FAU's campus for the last week's bout vs Marshall, told FAUOwlsnest, "it was a great visit and a great atmosphere,'' also adding "I love how the coaching staff creates a family atmosphere.''
With only one receiver currently publicly committed to the class of 2020, Wright becomes a major priority for the Owls coaching staff. Wright, told FAUOwlsnest, he definitely plans on taking an official visit with the possibility of that visit being during one of FAU's final two home game weekends.
The Owls have home games remaining versus FIU on November 9th and Southern Mississippi on November 30th.
If Wright takes his official visit before the season ends, he would not be the first local recruit to use their one official official during a FAU game weekend, as the current 2020 commit Andre Lamas did during the weekend FAU played MTSU.
The Owls coaching staff will have to hold off USF, and Indiana, both who are vying strongly for wideout's services.
If FAU does earn a commitment from Wright, Owl fans can expect him to sign during the early signing period, which starts December 21st, 2019.
