Before the season I thought USF would be an automatic W but I知 not so sure nowPosted On: Oct 3rd 2023, 9:07 AM #416479
I do not think there will be any automatics in the AAC, especially this year for us.

Now I just hope we play somewhat competitively, and that we win at least one conference game.

Agree, all games are winnable except Clemson and Illinois.
USF is the better team here but it is a winnable game.

We 100% should have won the Illinois game.

Yep. There are ZERO automatic wins for us this year.
This isn't like cusa in years such as 2019 where you wake up and blow out a team such as ODU based off a pure talent advantage. WE are the ones at a slight disadvantage, since we are in the AAC coming off of a 5-7 cusa year with a new coach.

The top of the AAC isn't any easier this year than before (look at Cincy, UCF, and Houston this season). Main difference is that the middle and especially the bottom of this conference are much worse this year due to the transitioning cusa schools (like us). It'll take a season or two for us to contend for a title in the AAC. Not even UTSA was ready yet.David Slavic said
I like to think that usually I'm pretty accurate about FAU, but this team is making me look like an idiot. Never thought Roc would be the one keeping us in games, and that under TH we'd have such bland playcalling with horrible passing. I thought we'd be a lock for a bowl game and contend in a much easier AAC, and contending for a conference championship.

However, I'm also going to be really watching how the other CUSA programs that moved with us fare. That'll be a good indicator of how we'll do the next couple of years, particularly in realignment.
