Ahead of a photoshoot this morning, FAU Owl's Nest has learned that Akileis Leroy will be donning the number two heading into the 2021 season. During a press conference to open the season, Willie Taggart said that numbers in the single digits would be reserved for players who deserve it, which means Leroy is one of them.

Also noted in the photo above is that FAU will be wearing red throwback uniforms this season. Similar to the uniforms they debuted last season, they pay homage to FAU's first uniforms with blue stripes on the shoulders and "FAU" written on the collar. It seems to look like FAU football is buying into the throwback uniforms and we will see them more this season with the passing of legendary head coach Howard Schnellenberger.

If Tronti is No. 6, maybe he’s the starting QB…and another running back in No. 5 is going to look very, very strange.

Red font: I guess 6 linebackers will be starting too.

On a more serious note, I don’t th8nk this means he’s starting. But it does scare me.
