Ed Warinner and Jon Bills Join FAU Coaching Staff

Post

FAU Athletics announced the additions of Ed Warinner and Jon Bills to the football team coaching staff.

Warinner, who served as the offensive line coach at Michigan, Minnesota, and Ohio State, will work with the FAU linemen and has been tapped as the Owls' run game coordinator. Warinner was the co-offensive coordinator at Ohio State when the Buckeyes won the National Championship in 2014.

Jon Bills will make his way to Boca Raton after a two-year stint at UMass where he coached tight ends, the same position he played as a Michigan Wolverine. Before joining the Minutemen, Bills worked as an offensive analyst under Willie Taggart at Florida State and as a grad assistant while at USF.

"I'm happy to welcome Ed and Jon to Paradise," said Taggart. "Ed brings more than 30 years of experience to this staff and will solidify an experienced and accomplished staff. I'm excited to see what our running game and o-line can accomplish with the addition of Coach Warinner. Jon began his career with me at WKU. I have enjoyed watching him grow as a coach and know that he will be a tremendous asset to this staff."

Willie definitely is leaning on experience for the 2021 coaching staff.

I talked about this directly on The Inside the Burrow podcast.

FAU felt their offensive staff obviously did not have the same experience as the defensive staff.

Warinner and Johnson add some big-time experience and succuess to the room.

When you discussed it on the pod cast, I could not have agreed more. Something  was a little off with the offense. Of coarse the QB  situation was obvious. But having years of coaching experience on the side line is invaluable. Coach T seems to have us in a winning situation. Time will tell. I can't wait for a "normal" season . With normal preparation

My die hard Michigan buddy on the hire: “ He’s terrific. He took so many bad OL and put them in the league. Michael Onwenu came in as a DL, turned him into a draft pick and guy was unreal for the Pats this year. I don’t get why we didn’t retain him. He’s amazing.”

So yeah… another 10/10 hire.
