How bout we flip the script on this and bring Kendall Briles back here now.

 Our O, even with Robison being much improved is still real inconsistent though (as is Chris).

We are not scoring near the Briles OC year, down 7.5 points and 80 yards per game. And even compared to last year we are up only 2 points a game  but actually down 60 yards a game!

Just a thought, be PRO active not defensivly re-active!

Have you seen FSU’s offense this year? Kendall is a huge no from me.
Do we even need to get into how he lost plying calling here?
Also hire the Briles name as an OC is one thing, but HC is another.

My middle daughter goes to FSU, so I have been reading a ton of rumor mill articles and listening to a bunch of talking head "experts".  For the most part, Lane's name hasn't come up as often as you might think (really was only talked about at length on the "Playbook" show on SirusXM that I heard).  And based on the history of this board regarding Lane, many on here jump to the immediate conclusion that Lane is the first choice when a number of jobs have come open over the past couple of years.  In all those cases I have said it is a 2-way street - a place Lane wants to go to but also a place that is going to want Lane and all the off-field attention he brings (good and bad).  I agree with several comments about FSU wanting/needing to hire a stabilizer given the circus they have had the last several seasons.  And Lane is far from that, so I actually don't think he is even in consideration UNLESS a bunch of other guys turn the job down.

FSU has been in a bad position for a number of years now, probably dating back to when they hired Jimbo as the "coach in waiting" even though they enjoyed a bunch of success.  The Seminoles have an AD who is in over his head, a President who is retiring this year, and only recently officially integrated the donors/boosters into the athletic program - it was run kind of standalone and that led to yet another very powerful voice that was separate from the normal chain of athletics.  So to the poster who mentioned Urban Meyer - no way do I think he would want to touch the FSU job.  The other big names I have heard are people like Bob Stoops (not sure he wants this hassle/rebuild), James Franklin (why in the heck would he leave Penn State), Mark Stoops (spent time at FSU and is probably on the short-list), Mike Norvell (deserves a shot at a big P5 job and is probably a candidate), both the Clemson offensive coordinators along with Venables (don't think Venables goes to a Clemson rival), and on down the line.

I would think Lane might be like #10 (or worse) on their possible list.  Could it get to the point they go that deep?  Sure.  If they did, would Lane seriously consider a move to Tallahassee?  Probably, given it would be 4 to 5x what FAU pays, provide a chance to play in major bowls, be on TV every week, and have sold-out crowds on most Saturdays.  But I don't think it is happening.

I like Lane and I think he’s done a good job here both on and off the field, but FSU needs stability and no buyout, they will go after Bob Stoops because of those two things.

Without looking at the total stats I would say Motor accounts for those much higher numbers, and our ground game this year is in a rebuild and stay (get) healthy phase. If we had Motor this year we would have likely been legitimate contenders in any of our games. Fun fact: To date, our offense put up more points on OSU than any other team. In fact, we put up more points on them than their last 3 opponents combined.

Lol I know I know. I am just saying that's the first place to look.

When Lane the "10-year deal" he never got a real raise and I think this leak is him hinting at FAU he needs more to pay fines.
