No home field advantage

Post

A. I assume the students just dont care about the team, but do care about drinking, partying and mingling with fellow students, so therefore the tailgate caters to them and the game doesnt.

B. If the product is better and the game then becomes an EVENT and not just a sports game, it turns heads. Look at how in demand bball is suddenly, simply based on winning and therefore becoming popular. Two seasons ago and part of last season, you could walk in to games no problem and free tickets were even handed out to draw fans. This is the case with sports in general, but ALOT more down here in South Florida Ive noticed since moving down here, where its a whole lot of casual fans at best, then other cities.  They dont want to go to a sports game, but they will attend an EVENT featuring a sports game.

C. Kodak Black was perhaps a good idea, but executed soooo damn poorly. The concert was to start at 215, started around 3pm and was the worst performance Ive ever seen.  Then he was to run on the field with the team like he did vs Monmouth and that didn't happen. Next time have it be a half time performance so the fans have to come to the game to see him.

D. In defense of the students, some reason this season Ive slowly become less and less interested in the product as the season goes along and not even sure next year I'll get season tickets. The fact Im relocating to a city further away from Boca plays a part too, but I also just don't feel like committing Saturdays to FAU.  If I want to go to the games I'll just buy the day of.  Last week almost felt like I'm going just to not waste my money, rather than going because I can't wait to go.

Attendance has been getting better in spite of only winning 5 games the last 3 seasons. But when you have only won 5 games or less for 4 seasons in a row, it starts to catch up to you. This team is awful to watch, and has been getting ESPN+ slots to hide the bad football being played here.

Can’t think of many people who would be too excited for that.

And sadly, 4 years after Kiffin, we are only 1-2 wins a season above those 3-9 rock bottom years. We are back to square one.

Lane ran it "up the middle'' more than anyone….

I mean the team trued multiple things the other night.

But going into Saturday the team scored 56 vs an in state team, so what was the excuse then? Our students predicted that would happen?

The student attendance among non greeks has increased greatly the last few years despite the below avg teams. But Greeks who mainly throw the big tailgates are skipping the game in large numbers. The school needs to fix it.

ECU had 38,000k this past weekend as a 1-5 team vs UNCC.

Yeah but that was time that running it up the middle actually worked, with a dark-horse heisman candidate runningback. When it consistently doesn't work, it would probably be a good idea to try something a little different. How many chunk plays followed by three stopped run plays do we have to watch?

Yes, play calling is much easier when you have great players….

People can say "try something different'' but what are you calling on third and 5? Outside of Wester who is getting open?

Who saw 17 for Tulane? Who on the roster is beating their man 1 on1 like that?

17 for Tulane is Tulane's number 2.

Agreed and I’m not so sure that Herman is closer to Lane than he is to Taggart. Outside of Wester, we’ve had 0 offense all year. Play calling hasn’t done us any favors and Herman telling the guys he loves them doesn’t do much. He reminds me of a more jacked Partridge. Football program is aimless not going in a good direction we need to stop hiring these retread coaches that were fired for not winning it literally only worked with Lane. It’s not a winning strategy. Apparently Mississippi State is looking at interviewing Herman. I wouldn’t be too upset if they take him.

Oh man who is gonna tell him?!?!?

17 on Tulane (Christ Brazzell) was committed to us under Willie. He even visited here a few times. He saw the pitiful play on the field and flipped to Tulane.

This could not be more off base.

Tom Herman has succeeded every single place he has been. The one place he was fired from had nothing to do with football.

This is by far his worst team.

Herman’s accolades and success far exceed Lane.

This one of there dumbest posts I have ever read.

Herman won a Sugar Bowl at Texas, Peach Bowl at Houston, a national title at OSU, but Owl ranger saying he is Taggart?

Idk what any coach could have done with this roster year one in a new conference.

A back up QB and a banged up D, and zero NIL.

This guy wants to run him out to hire who?
