Legendary football coach Howard Schnellenberger recently fell at his Boynton Beach home and suffered a subdural hematoma. After a hospital stay, he has moved to a rehab/recovery center.
“Our prayers are for a full and speedy recovery,” said Beverlee Schnellenberger, Howard’s wife and confidante of 61 years. “Howard has been working with a medical staff that has been my lifeline during a time that doesn’t permit visitation.”
Schnellenberger’s storied career concluded at FAU after mastering both the NFL and collegiate football sidelines for 56 years. Most recently, the Kentucky native received word that he would receive the Paul “Bear” Bryant Lifetime Achievement Award.
