ICYMI, here's the full introductory presser with remarks from President Stacy Volnick, Athletics Director Brian White, and the man himself, head coach John Jakus!

Coach Jakus also took the time to speak with media following the introductory presser, going over the system he wants to implement at FAU and how he'll be aggressive in recruiting talented players to the program!

Well, I am sold. That was a great introduction. I think it beats Dusty's intro to Michigan fans.
I like Brian White too. A solid guy for AD. Good in front of people, natural public speaker.
I am looking forward to whats happening next and next season.
Go Owls.

Agree 100% These last few days have been an emotional rollercoaster. John Jakus (JJ) is the best gift to FAU Basketball and it's crazy how everything fell into place. I literally cried twice. Okay maybe three times. He didn't once look at his notes. I am certain that he is genuine, loves the game, cares about his student athletes, and is the best person for the job. Thank you Brian for diligently searching and finding the perfect coach to join the FAU Basketball family. When God closes one door, he always opens another one…What a great and fitting acceptance speech for Good Friday. LET'S GO OWLS!!! We are in great hands..

I know that none of us here would, but I have seen a lot of online harassment toward Davis regarding the last game and the last shot. I don’t blame him for keeping a low profile while he gets his affairs in order.

He’s a good person. I was disappointed in our “fans”. I look forward to rooting for him whatever he decides to do.

A week ago at this time I expected a complete rebuild, now I’m trying to find out where the 2025 final four is at.

This is so disappointing to hear if Nelly did face this. Really unfathomable considering all he has done. My guess is he would be more looking for a pro career now than portal considering he gave it a look last year, but that's just speculation.

Anyway, how would anyone NOT want to play for coach Jakus after that speech!?!

He did an incredible job creating a vision for the team, but more importantly why the players should stay ... I thought it was rather important to remind the players what they accomplish was special. Hoping they are inspired!

I mean there is winning a press conference and then there is what he just did. He instilled belief when 4 days ago there wasn’t much to go around.

DeltAlumnus you nailed this. Guy gave the entire gym serious confidence and something to believe in.

Been traveling the last few weeks, so still catching up one all this. I'm pretty fired up for the next era. Love that Brian White continues to think outside the box find the perfect fit for the program and the community. Jakus seems like he's exactly what we needed for a program to take the next step. He sounded more excited to be at FAU than Dusty sounded to be at Michigan. Which also says a lot for what Dusty did for us here. Really excited for better defense, being a more complete team.

I also love selling the team on the legacy they're creating and the idea of having their numbers hung in the rafters, and being the first in FAU history to accomplish what they're doing.

Now we just need football to get on the level of basketball.
