May says he will take some of the current Owl staff with him, which means there will be need for some backfilling.

Know this is all conjecture Rick, but who do you think stays from this '23-'24 coaching staff?
I've got Church, Abernethy and Sean Alarcon (Boca Raton native). Don't know a whole lot about the others.

Reading that Schertz has been offered by Louisville. That plus the St Louis interest ($$) makes him seemingly more unlikely.

Not sure any other external candidates have been floated and hires are being made left and right. So either an internal hire or name out of left field are most likely outcomes as of now given what is known unless Iam missing something.

May also responded that he will "sign some high school players and portal players" to the Wolverine roster, but provided no commentary or indication of incorporating current #FAU roster members other than to say "I don't know".

Iím not sure how common it is for assistants to stay if there is an external coach hired. Iíd also imagine the option to follow to Umich will come with a pay raise.†

That video you posted about bringing players with him was nice. Dustyís a good guy I donít fault any of the players for taking the chance to go with him. I have heard that itís hard to transfer to Michigan without a degree so the only guys that could follow are the players graduating this year. Of course those things can change weíll just have to wait and see.†

Per local Indiana TV reporter, Schertz turned us down for long term deal at over $1M per year. That likely shows the initial desire was not to go inhouse:

This is really bad. I could see turning down maybe an offer of $500k per season to continue what you've built but turning down a salary that is triple the amount you make now is eye-opening and says A LOT.

Louisville offered 3M and he turned that down too.

Looks like LSU job is up next, and highly doubt he will turn that down.
