FAU men's basketball will continue play into the postseason. The Owls have accepted an invitation to play in the College Basketball Invitational (CBI).
The CBI is scheduled for March 19-23 at the Ocean Bank Center in Daytona Beach, Fla. The date, time and opponent for FAU's first-round contest will be announced soon.
"We're excited to continue our season in the CBI," FAU head coach Dusty May said. "Our program has earned this opportunity and we look forward to playing quality competition."
This will mark FAU's first time in the CBI and will be just the Owls' fourth postseason tournament appearance. FAU has previously advanced to the 2002 NCAA Tournament, the 2011 National Invitation Tournament (NIT) and the 2019 CollegeInsiders.com Tournament (CIT).

FAU (19-14) and Northern Colorado (20-15) have never met on the hardwood. The Bears were the runners-up in the Big Sky Conference Championship tournament, while FAU reached the quarterfinals of the Conference USA Championship tournament before being eliminated by eventual tournament champion UAB.
The Owls' berth in the CBI is the fourth postseason tournament in FAU men's basketball history. FAU has played once in the NCAA Tournament (2002), once in the NIT (2011) and once in the CIT (2018).
The winner of the Owls-Bears matchup will advance to face the winner of the No. 4-seeded Stephen F. Austin vs. No. 13-seeded UNC-Asheville matchup. That CBI quarterfinal matchup will be played Monday, March 21 at 3:30 p.m.

Owls are in the opposite bracket but could face either of the two if they (collectively) make it to the 🏆 Game.
