Florida Atlantic defeated the West Division's No. 7 seed Southern Miss, 86-59 on Wednesday night to close the second round of the 2022 Conference USA Championships. The Owls were fueled by a 59-percent shooting night and a 51-30 point differential in the second half to pull away from the upset-minded Golden Eagles.
FAU's Bryan Greenlee was the picture of efficiency, shooting 5-of-6 from the field, all from distance, to post 15 points and the Gainesville, Florida, native also led the way with six assists. In addition to Greenlee, four other Owls scored in double figures.
The Blazers will be making their first appearance in the Championship, having been afforded the first two days off with byes.
