Virtual Campus Tour

Hey guys, here's a REALLY detailed virtual campus tour. It has a guided "walking" tour with a lot of 360 degree views of buildings and rooms.

There's also a tour of the Athletic facilities that's narrated by Ken LaVicka!

Re: Virtual Campus Tour

This is awesome! Excellent work.

As an aside, I approached FAU several years back about getting something like this up and running. At the time we had a bunch of outdated pictures with a clunky user interface and none of it said "proud of our school" AT ALL.

I figured we should get something more professional up on the main FAU website, recommending the Orange Key Virtual Tour on the Princeton website as a model. I volunteered to help in any way I could, including taking pictures and/or writing descriptions. They were surprisingly hesitant about it, giving me every excuse under the sun as to why it would be too hard to do.

And now they've done it. It's remarkable how "impossible" things have become possible again at FAU.

Now if they could only get.it.through.their.heads that links to Greek Life and Campus Rec websites NEED to be on the "student life" section of the Admissions and Current Students tabs, that would just blow.my.mind.

In fact, some schools have "Things To Do in (insert college town name)" websites under Prospective Students tabs so students can see that they're not going to be in some lifeless hellhole, and that would be awesome here. I know that was big for a couple people when choosing their colleges. Whenever we don't brag about something, we give off the sense that we have something to hide.

Thanks for the input. FAU may have been hesitant to do something like this in the past because it can be very expensive and it's a lot of work/time. I was with them when they took a lot of the 360 degree pictures and it was pretty cool. it was done by an outside company and we've had it complete for months now but it's taken awhile to get it online because of all the changes, script writing/rewriting, etc.

Also, We've talked about having a "things to do in Boca" section on the web site and we make changes every year so any and all input is welcomed! I'm especially interested if any students/parents have any comments or concerns if you've just recently applied.

thanks!
