the fact we had the land, lending was cheapest ever and there was a waiting list for the dorms, i think its 5 years too late.

Not really.  no matter how cheap money was, you have to have the means (and fan base) to pay the loan.  It's kinda like all those people that made $40k per year and bought $500k houses…money is cheap but it doesn't make sense.

I'm not doubting RJS is a recruiting tool.  I've been there…it's an awesome football stadium.  My point is that if you were in the SBC or CUSA, or any other non-BCS conference, it wouldn't be as much of a plus for you.  If you were getting 15-20K per game instead of 40-60K, the place wouldn't seem quite as good for the program.

Re: Letter from Coach Schnellenberger on Stadium

We've gotta open the new stadium with an in state school. USF fans traveled really well to the last game down here, and boy was that game exciting! USF, UCF, Miami (don't count this one out either) or maybe one of those big boys up north would be ideal.

It could actually be the first time in FAU history where a ticket is hard to come by! 26k fans showed up in 2001 against slippery rock and I'd assume we could draw more than that to open the stadium, USF brought practically 10k 2 years ago!

If we give USF a game this year, which I think we will, that would be a great opening game.  I don't know if USF would want it though.

If that doesn't work out UCF would be a good second choice.

GO OWLS!
