I don't see the problem here.  You buy the access for FAU games.  They didn't sell Personal Seat Licenses for the seats, so they aren't required to offer you the same seats for every event held at the stadium.  They are doing enough just offering season ticket holders the opportunity to buy tickets.

I have Priority Club seats and I'm fine with what they offered.  That being said, I have zero interest in attending the MLL game anyway, so this really doesn't effect me!

I guess I gotta agree with your comment, we did not pay for personal seat licences, THAT would have been A LOT more money. Good point and thanks for setting me straight on this!

But we do get first right to buy tix, and in any other circumstance wed be able to buy priority if they were available, so I dont think its a big deal, theyve given us the opportunity.

Its best to wait until gameday, let fau screw up the ticket lines and let everyone in for free if you really want to go!  :D

Re: Priority & Premier Seat Holders

its a broke department. can't blame them.

when the Cowboys (nfl) built their new stadium they charged a PSL (person seat license) which entitled the purchaser of that seat the opportunity to purchase that seat at any event at the stadium. When the giants and jets did the PSL, they did the same thing, BUT it was only for home games of that team. Excluding concerts and other sporting events.

its just how it is.

personally, however they can raise money, i'm all for it.

I really don't see the issue here.  I purchased season tickets to FAU football.  I didn't purchase the seat itself.

We are given the right of first refusal if the seating is available but in this case they are hosting a private party that has nothing to do with FAU football but we are still getting first shot at a ticket elsewhere.  I was offered my seats for the North/South game and purchased them and enjoyed the game.

They are trying to offset the cost of the stadium with other options and people still bitch, it's unbelievable.  Everyone gets upset because we have no money but when anything is done to try to bring in some funds everyone bitches about some silly little nothing.

As far as some seats being sold "way below" what you paid, I paid a very fair price for priority seats, we were having a horrible year and they had to get people in the seats somehow.  Would you have been happy if they did nothing and there was nobody  in the priority sections?  No, because then you would have bitched that FAU does nothing to promote the new stadium blah blah blah.

Who is bitching?  I asked some questions and then responded to one.  The assumptions made on this forum are quite impressive.

Re: Priority & Premier Seat Holders

I feel that the "right of first refusal" is being misused as a term, personally.  I have no issue with them trying to raise money to pay for the stadium, they are somewhat screwed and the students will bear the burden as I don't see a $20MM sponsor signing on anytime soon.

I do feel, that with the lower priced seats being sold during last season, that the "value" was not there and the donation requirement should be reduced this season.

They sold football tickets, not tickets to other venues that occur from a rental agreement…so, really, not much push back to be had from our ticket holders?
Exactly. There will be all kinds of events held at that venue, from other sports games to concerts. You can't expect to have your football seat reserved for you for every event. It's actually kind of nice they're offering you first refusal for this one–they don't have to.

Actually, what is wrong with FAU season ticket holders being able to buy tickets to ANY event held in FAU stadium for YOUR SEATS ONLY. Not the club or restaurant, but just YOUR SEATS IF you are willing to pay the event promoters going ticket price for YOUR SEATS withing a set REASONABLE deadline (ie…NOT 3 DAYS!). They are selling tickets to their event at the going rate set by the promoter and filling those seats, so what would be the problem with that?

Re: Priority & Premier Seat Holders

I don't see any problem with it. It's a venue rental. And Rick had a great comparison - do Dolphin season ticket holders/club level get first right of refusal for
'Canes games? For Wrestlemania? For Monstertruck racing? etc. etc. etc.

Venue rentals bring in some good money and great exposure for universities. At the school I work at, IF IF IF we had to accommodate our season ticket holders, etc. everytime we had a venue rental, it would be very challenging.

Why would you assume that was directed towards you, so yes, I agree with your comment on the assumptions.

Re: Priority & Premier Seat Holders

I bought a priority seat and donated $250 to do so and do not think that I should be offered that seat at every event FAU held there.  I think its good marketing if they actually have events I want to go to (this one is definelty not one of them).  I thought I donated the $250 towards the football team.

We donated money to buy a seat a Lockhart as well…I dont think they were offering me soccer tickets.  The whole principle of this doesn't really make sense to me.

If the team was 8-4 nobody would be talking about the value not being there.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.
