Coach Schnellenberger just stopped by.
Wow, that's crazy (in a good way).
How did he find out about it?
Coach is very big into merchandising. He pretty much is responsible for getting UM's merchandising from nothing to where it is today. He has been following what we are doing for some time and has invited me to his office a number of times to offer his support and discuss merchandising. He has some great stories to tell.
He wants me to be the exclusive provider of Howard Schnellenberger autographed memorabilia. He recently did a signing event in Broward and he signed over 500 items. He still has a huge fan base.
So if everything pans out, he will appear in my store for signing events. He also knows lots of others that may participate. We will also carry some items on my site and in the store.
He came to me with the idea and I feel very fortunate and honored that he would choose us.

Awesome. I did not know that about him.

University of Oregon = Apple
Apple = abuse of workers in China
Just off the top of my head, with some research I bet I can find more.
I know they're affiliated with Nike but how is Oregon affiliated with Apple?
Their football stadium is called Autzen Stadium, named after a Portland lumberman.
Their basketball arena is named after Phil Knight's (of Nike) son.

I think he has Oregon's "angel sponsor" confused in name. But NIKE DOES have huge overseas labor issues which are VERY well documented!
If a few current Owl supporters are going to quit supporting FAU and the Owls over this I am sad but let 'em go.
You can NEVER please everybody and some you can NEVER please!

This naming controversy is more than mere big time college sports business. It’s really a question of moral integrity. I’m not sure that I can sit and watch a football game in a stadium named after a company that’s in a business that has profound negative effects on the American judicial system and human rights.
To those unwilling (or unable) to understand, consider this: What are ramifications for the judicial system when imprisonment becomes a commodity and the prison industry begins to influence legislators to draft law for profit? “Land of the Free” becomes really ironic, doesn’t it?
Lots of people here are joking about as if it’s a non-issue (“Don’t do the crime,” and other such stupidity.), and such comments are extraordinarily ignorant. The flippancy on this board is revolting. As Thoreau said, “After the first blush of sin comes indifference,” so I guess if you’ve already sold your soul for NCAA football, then “Owlcatraz” isn’t too bad.
FAU is now a worldwide joke. See today’s article in The Guardian.

Have fun at the tailgate. You’ll need to drink a few extra beers to forget about your complicity in this travesty. See you in twelve years.

We have many leaders in high places that favor "horrific treatment" of innocent lives.

…and what happens to the "Land of the Free" when one sector wants to supress Free Enterprise?
Every large business on the planet tries to influence laws to their benefit. Shall we shut them all down?
There are multiple issues with everything. Middle ground, man.

I, for one, will not be renewing my season tickets, which I’ve had since the beginning of the program (I am as loyal a fan as any of you).

I completely believe that everyone has a right to their opinion regardless of how ridiculous I might believe it is because as I have gotten older I have realized we all can see the same thing and see if completely differently. That said, I would love to know who made you judge, jury and executioner. That fact that you come on here and call people who disagree with your opinion ignorant goes shows how utterly ignorant you are.
With an attitude like yours don't let the gates hit you in the ass on the way out, you won't be missed.
BTW…why am I supposed to care what the guardian in the UK has to say, are they the final word on what is and what isn't accepted in your world?
GO OWLS!
