Just looking at the pictures again. I have to say, I LOVE the open endzone. With the palm trees in the open spaces between the stands, people watching on TV will know immediately that they are watching a game from Boca Raton. It will be one of the most unique settings in all of college football. Can't wait until 2011!
obviously we're talking details here but I think you're right, it even looks like those trees are in sand, how cool would that be to have a little beach in the corners…allow students to bring towls and lay out during the games, could you imagine? That would be the #1 recruiting/admissions tool in America right there, to have a home game on TV with a bunch of coeds partying at "Beach Stadium"…every red blooded american kid that is suffering winter in Iowa would KILL to come to FAU.

And you know the top floor will be a selling point for recruits who come in to visit ;D

I believe ours will be the only stadium in the NCAA's that will offer an unobstructed view of the Atlantic Ocean…very cool!

…and finally the whole "Florida Atlantic" name will make sense to people everywhere. This place is going to be one-of-a-kind.

Ted's blog says that all seats will be have backs, not just bleachers. That will be really nice and help distinguish the stadium from a lot of others. The theme will really help give the Boca campus an identity. They really did a great job with the renderings.
I agree. They have done a really great job on the design of the stadium. When you build these type of "erector set" stadiums, they tend to all look pretty similar. The open endzone, all of the palm trees, and the chairback seating will all make our stadium very unique. Kudos to all involved. It has taken far longer then any of us would have liked, but it looks like this place is going to be worth the wait.
