GAME THREAD: Wagner @ FAU - September 21, 2019
IF we can bring both Bryant and Mitchell back for the UNCC C-USA opener, we may have a good buffet of receivers to keep things interesting…
Five targets will spread the defense's we face out nicely…and hopefully open up the running lanes a bit more too.
TOUCHDOWN #FAU!!

Welcome to the official DeAngelo Antoine stan account!! He now has the program record for most TD receptions (4) in a game. This time, it came with a 57 yard BOMB!
35-7 FAU | :50 3Q
End of the Third Quarter.#FAU is in complete control, leading #Wagner 35-7. Four out of those five Owl touchdowns are from Chris Robison linking up with DeAngelo Antoine.

Looks like FAU has found their new slot receiver!

I think the lack of a run game has been a choice…we aren't going to load the film up on stuff someone can use against us with conference action coming up. Put out there what you have to put out there…Posted On: Sep 21st 2019, 8:27 PM #388864
Against an outmatched FCS team, your regular run up the middle plays should result in more than 31 yards rushing at the end of the 3rd quarter (and there have been numerous times where Robison has to run for his life). Honestly, the up the middle runs look just like the plays used against UCF 2 weeks ago, and they have ended up with about the same results. The difference in this game is FAU has superior athletes so Wagner struggles on offense and can’t contain the Owl’s receivers.
In a game where the team is winning by 28 points and have outgained the opposition more than 2.5-to-1, it still doesn’t feel real good. Maybe Lane is “saving” all his plays for later, but I agree with the other poster last week seemed like a better performance than this week.
So far so, so good…

Yeah I looked up and saw 31 yds rushing total after the 3rd qtr, and just smh. That erases any positives from this game.
Larry McCammon converts a 4th & 1 with a 15 yard scamper. He then gets thrown to the ground by a defender, despite being five yards out of bounds. The refs originally threw a flag for late hit, but then decided to pick it up.

What are y'all doing, @F5_CUSARefs????

TOUCHDOWN #FAU!!

How about that from Nick Tronti! The former Mr. Florida comes in for Chris Robison on the drive, and leads the Owls downfield with a pair of runs. The TD came with a three yard scamper which was aided with a KILLER stiff-arm!
42-7 FAU | 11:33 4Q
Owls now with the majority of their #2's in on defense. #FAU is in cruise control as #Wagner has the ball near midfield.
