Exactly, why have an OC but not let him call the plays? Willie has always been a dull play caller at WKU and USF til he let his OC at USF run the O!!!Posted On: Nov 9th 2020, 7:40 AM #397546
Willie did not call plays while at FSU.
While at USF they averaged 43.8 points a game in 2016 and 33.6 in 2015.
It's not a play calling issue right now as it is a QB issue.
Teams are not respecting the Tronti keep on read options and it making it more difficult for the oline.

The offense works when the D has to respect the QBs ability to pull and move the ball. It started to look easy for our RBs when Posey came in and hit them for a few gains with his feet. The play calls weren’t any different, the personnel was.

If you break a new QB like Posey in, he might throw a game changing pick that can change the course of a game. Tronti has avoided besides 1 throw in the Marshall game, bad interceptions. That’s what kept us in the game our 3 wins. We already have seen Posey thrown an interception that nearly cost us the game.
I’m all for having the offense run like it was with Posey. But there has to be a passing threat. Taggart is going to be fine calling plays. A lot of fans don’t understand how things work. You can’t just lose Robison and basically Davidson for almost the whole season so far and expect to have a good offense.
