And Marshall might have the best traveling fanbase in the conference. Let's pack the stadium with red & blue!

Key's to this game.
Offense:
1.) Control the tempo of the game. Be the ones that set the tone of the game
2.) Control the line of scrimmage and open up holes for Motor and Buddy
3.) Make smart decisions with the football
4.) No Turnovers
5.) Gain separation from your defenders and give your QB a easy target for the football.
Defense:
1.) Force WKU in to second and third down and long situations.
2.) Keep the plays in front of the secondary
3.) Pressure the QB and control the defensive Line of scrimmage
4.) Force turnovers
5.) Keep your assignments. Don't get caught out of position.
For Offense and Defense
1.) Limit the penalties. They are drive killers or drive extenders.
Those are the keys to the game.

Litton is the third best QB we will have seen in the last three weeks

Still don't think White at WKU is very good. He looked lost in 4th qtr. Bad decisions, batted passes (2 or 3 nearly picked as well) and when tried to throw long was way in front of the deep receivers, so bad they gave up on the throws!

Being able to throw the ball a little would help - hopefully getting back to the warmer and friendlier confines of Boca will have us seeing a Driskel more like what we saw against UNT. Marshall does give up over 200 yards/game passing, but that is still good for 4th in the league. We need to find a way to incorporate McNeal, JF3, Wright, Woods, et al and not have to kill Motor with 30+ carries again.
The good news is they just gave up over 400 yards and 41 points to FIU, who is at best a middle-of-the-pack offensive team statistically. The Herd also has to travel in on a short week. But I expect a good team to be showing up on Friday and we need to come out with our hair on fire like we did against UNT 2 weeks ago. A great 4th quarter is nice, but I prefer blow-outs!

On FAU quarterback Jason Driskel
First off, they run the football so well. His big plays have come off play-action passes. He’s done a great job with
play-action and taking shots down the field. They don’t ask him to throw it 30 times a game. If you look at stat-wise
what they’re doing, they’re handing the ball off and using play-action. He’s done a good job with that offense.
On preparing for the pace of FAU’s offense
It’s hard. Last night we took two different sets of skill guys and got as fast as we can. They do a good job with their
pace. We’ll do the best we can to prepare for it this week.
On FAU’s running back Devin Singletary
He’s physical, he’s tough, he makes all the cuts. He’s a good back. We have a couple of coaches who know some
guys who were on their previous staff and they think he’s an NFL-caliber talent. When you watch him on tape that’s
what he looks like. He gained a quiet thousand (yards rushing) a year ago. Coming into this year, eight games in, he
already has over a thousand yards. He’s a good back.
On FAU’s defense
FAU, stat-wise, creates an awful lot of turnovers. You look at that game against Western Kentucky last week, I think
going into the fourth quarter it was 28-20. It was a tight game and turnovers blew that thing wide open. You sure
don’t want to give these guys any more “at-bats” by turning the ball over.

Holliday is a very good coach, and they are going to come in prepared probably more so after last week's loss. This has the makings of being a good one - you almost wish they would have won last week and would have come in overconfident. I'll trust our coaches have the good guys ready for this. Just like Kiffin said in his interview, the most important game on your schedule is Saturday every week. I have already been guilty of looking down the road and projecting wins, but regarding conference championships every game right now is a playoff in that we control that with wins. And like birdies in golf, you can't birdie (win) them all if you don't birdie (win) the next one.Posted On: Nov 1st 2017, 8:50 AM #372562
I agree with this - especially wishing they'd beaten FIU last week. We don't them coming in here desperate and surly, with a chip on their shoulder.
