Alfred Morris Week 2 Stats

NCowl said

this is all great for Alfred, though he is competing for playing time and loosing out on valuable TD's because of RGIII. I think he was 11 carries for 82 yards, with 2 TDs. Having such an agile/mobile QB takes away from Morris.
But very proud to be an OWL, hope he keeps getting the starts, and some more scoring opportunities.

GO MORRIS!
GO OWLS!

I agree with ya Jab. It actually should help Morris, especially in the long run. I don't really want to see Alfred carring the ball 28 times like last week. It is a long tough 16 game regular season and I don't want them to just run Alfred into the ground and then replace him - Shanahan has been known to do  that too!

Re: Alfred Morris Week 2 Stats

I am glad to link this now. Earlier this morning Peter King said Alfred Morris was from FIU not FAU. I know I e-mailed him and had a fellow FAU colleague do the same. It is corrected now.

Alfred Morris is following in some good footsteps.

A tale of two backs
Back Draft round Year Rookie yards Rookie avg./game
Terrell Davis 6 1995 1,117 69.8
Alfred Morris 6 2012 185* 92.5*

* Through two games
Mike Shanahan, of course, likes the late-round, unknown running backs. He's always felt, with much justification, that you can find a back late in the draft who can help you win, and he's been doing it now for most of two decades in Denver and Washington. The latest: Florida Atlantic's Alfred Morris, who has taken over the starting job with the 'Skins and doesn't seem inclined to let it go anytime soon. To the right, charting Morris versus a former Bronco back who was one of Shanahan's best late-round finds.
