Rusty looking sharp for Titans
"Coach Jeff Fisher said he expects to play at least three quarterbacks on Saturday in Seattle– starter Vince Young, and back-ups Chris Simms and rookie Rusty Smith.
Fisher left open the possibility of veteran Kerry Collins getting the night off, however.
“We’ll see how the series go,’’ Fisher said."

In fact, there’s some buzz that he won’t even dress out for the preseason opener against Seattle.
That means veteran Chris Simms and rookie Rusty Smith will get most the snaps. It will be a chance for Simms to make a case on why he should be the No.2 heading into the season, and offer Smith an opportunity he belongs as well.
Here’s a look at what Titans offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger thinks his quarterbacks have performed through the first two weeks of training camp:
“I think Vince has been pretty steady. Kerry has been very steady,’’ Heimerdinger said. “Chris has been pretty good and then there have been days where he’s made some mistakes.
“And Rusty has been really good some days and other days he’s a rookie.’’
As for the battle for the back-up spot, Heimerdinger said, “I think both guys have looked pretty good. They are different guys, but overall I think they have been consistent.’’
One other thing to keep in mind about the battle for No.2 — Collins is scheduled to make $5.5 million in 2010, Simms just $755,000.

If Rusty does even mediocre he takes a clear advantage.
