Budget Cuts Continue For FAU

While there are a number of unnecessary swipes at us in the article, the headline isn't false: FAU is seeking a 15% increase while UF is going with 9%. Even though our 15% puts us as the same overall cost as UF, 15% is still more than 9%.

Not sure what their deal is, to be honest. Every paper has a bias, obviously, and I think it was Orson Welles who said, "Journalism is about printing what someone else doesn't want you to know; everything else is just public relations." As Jab mentioned earlier, a lot of UF grads return to South Florida when they graduate, and I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up at the Sentinel. From there they can practice Gator elitism and make sure to keep other universities - like FAU - "in their place." That or their Editor-in-Chief is a Gator.

How else can you justify an article that basically says, "Here's why Gainesville is an awesome college town and why we think Boca is a joke." That's message board fodder, not legitimate journalism.

You are corect in the percentage of increase is higher but the overall tuition will be the same at FAU and UF, but higher at FIU than either.
