Coach Kellie Lewis- Jay is doing some work.
Definitely. Great hire so far. If she keeps this up, well, she'll be hired away after the season.
So… hard to know what to hope for as a fan here.

answered Head Coach Kellie Lewis-Jay's recent call to "put teams away" by upping their offensive output in the second to the tune of +16 points.
Think she can teach that to the men?
My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Blue Raiders Hand Owls First SBC Loss of 2012-13
After falling behind by seven points in the first half, the Owls (8-6, 5-1) caught up in the second, tying the contest 37-37 at the 14:30 mark courtesy of a Chenise Miller lay-up.
But a 15-0 scoring spree over the next four minutes by the Blue Raiders would prove to be an insurmountable task for the visitors to overcome.
MTSU assumed as much as a 24 point advantage before the Owls regained composure offensively.
The Blue Raiders (10-5, 5-1) made a living at the free throw line for the night by tossing in a 24-of-30 performance, but did not return the same opportunity to FAU, who only got seven tries and finished 4-of-7.
Miller posted a double-double effort for the Owls with 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Takia Brooks led the roster in scoring with 18 points.
Ebony Rowe cashed in a game best 22 points and 15 boards for Middle.
The loss snaps a three game win streak for the Owls, who will next travel to Western Kentucky for a 5:00 PM tip against the Hilltoppers on Saturday.

Re: 2012-13 FAU Women's Basketball Schedule
I must say, as big of an Owl fan that I am, I have never really followed the Women's Basketball program. I absolutely love basketball, but the Women's game just didn't interest me.
I was fortunate enough to be invited to a Women's Basketball luncheon recently and just have the utmost respect for this coaching staff and team.
I started going to Women's Basketball games this year. I can tell you, it is absolutely a great value and great entertainment.
I'm hooked!!
If you have the opportunity, go check out a game. You will not be disappointed.
I am so happy I checked it out.

Re: 2012-13 FAU Women's Basketball Schedule
Florida Atlantic played a solid first half, trailing by only two points with 2:40 to play, but a 29-14 run by the Hilltoppers (13-3, 6-1) saw them up by 17 later in the second.
FAU would trim the margin to six after a Takia Brooks lay-up with 6:46 remaining, but get no closer.
The team struggled to find consistency from long range, finishing 28% on 7-of-25 shooting.
Three Owls were in double figures: Kimberly Smith (18), Brooks (16), and Chenise Miller (11).
Western Kentucky saw a 46-33 on the backboards.
FAU (8-7, 5-2) next returns home for a two game stint, beginning with North Texas on Wednesday at 7:00 PM.

Owls Notch 10th Straight SBC Win at FAU Arena with 73-64 Victory Over Troy
The win marked the 10th straight in Sun Belt play for the team at FAU Arena.
“It was a good win for us. I’m very proud of the team for responding after a difficult week", said head coach Kellie Lewis-Jay.
Latavia Dempsey had the hot hand for the Owls, torching a career high 24 points to lead all scorers. Chenise Miller (17 points) and Kimberly Smith (16 points) were each just two rebounds away from tallying double-double performances with eight apiece.
FAU led 40-32 at the break, and stayed ahead by no less than four points the rest of the way, successfully withstanding a number rally attempts by Troy.
The Trojans committed 31 turnovers on the night in the loss, dropping to an overall mark of 3-13 on the year, while remaining winless in league play at 0-7.
North Texas will next visit the Owls on Saturday. Game time is 3:00 PM.
