Defense - 57.3 PGA, 36% FGA, 28.3% 3PTA
Rebounding - 40.7 PG Team, 32.7 PG Opponents
Notables
This season, a group of four newcomers comprising Miami’s top recruiting class in program history donned a UM jersey for the first time. One of those is freshman guard Bruce Brown, who has hit the floor with an immediate impact.
Brown was recognized as the ACC Freshman of the Week on December 5th after averaging 11.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in a pair of wins over Rutgers and Wofford that week. He then followed that up with a triple-double (11 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists) against South Carolina State.
Brown is second on the team with 6.8 rebounds per game, trailing senior forward Kamari Murphy's 8.2 rpg
FAU at a Glance
Offense - 75.5 PPG, 43% FG, 38% 3PT
Defense - 71.9 PGA, 41% FGA, 36% 3PTA
Rebounding - 37.5 PG Team, 38.4 PG Opponents
Notables
The Owls play for the first time since a 79-77 overtime victory over Ohio State on Dec. 6th in their first ever win over a Big Ten program.
FAU is taking good care of the basketball so far this season, and enjoys a national ranking of 23rd in fewest turnovers for the year. Ronald Delph is 42nd in the nation in rebounding with 9.5 grabs per outing (2nd C-USA).
If anyone thought Gedarius Troutman's shooting performance last season at the junior college level was a fluke, they might want to think again. Troutman is boasting a 45% mark from downtown (23-51) through the Owls' eight games while pitching in 9.3 ppg.
As a team Florida Atlantic is meeting Curry's preseason expectation of producing more points per game while putting up 9.2 ppg over last season's tally of 66.3 points a contest.
Friday's tilt will be against the best defensive opponent they have faced so far, hands down.

“They’re a very dangerous team because they have so many good players,” said UM coach Larranaga. “Adonis Filer is very, very good, a high-level recruit, we played against him when he was with Clemson. Nick Rutherford is a very fast, outstanding point guard. Delph, their center, is seven feet tall and skilled, and I talked to friends of mine who said he’s an NBA prospect because of his size and skill level.”

The Owls actually lead for a bit, but are now trailing 20-12 with 7:39 to go on the first half.
Big issue is Miami's defense, FAU is just 4-of-18 so far.

A 12-2 Canes run has them in the driver seat.
Filer 9PT (2-5 FG, 4-4 FT) for FAU.

The three ball is not going down for the Owls tonight (1-of-9), but the glass is a different story where they are being out hauled 35-18. That spells trouble.
