I am glad we played SMU. A much better bowl win than this wreck of a Miami Hurricane team.

The canes and the moles have absolutely lost any swagger or intimidation that they once had. ANYONE that think this is a problem Diaz caused is mistaken. These type of issues develop over time. The don't simply arrive one day. But in true cane fashion, they still were talking smack. Canes won two body bag games . Other than that they were 4 and 7.

La Tech is the 2nd team in CUSA but the QB screwed the team with the suspension then in true millennial fashion they awarded him offensive player of the year, ridiculous.

Miami is a really bad football team right now.  Diaz has 12 months to turn this around or he’s done.  Wow those two games were ugly.  How bout them canes

Completely agree with you that the suspension should have been a SIGNIFICANT data point but, but strictly from the numbers perspective…

Smith tallied 2,977 yards for 2019 over 11 contests (270 YPC) with a 64% completion rate, 18 TD, and 5 INT, including today's win.

Robison tallied 3,701 yards for 2019 over 14 contests (264 YPC) with a 62% completion rate, 28 TD, and 6 INT.

Robison tossed 10 more TD's and that is a significant notable, but where the coaches likely parted ways with respect towards giving him their votes, and honoring him with the award, was in the run game, where Robison had 84 attempts for -60 net yardage gained, while Smith had 100 attempts for +224 net yardage gained.

On UM's status, also agree!

Never understood the Diaz hire…he can get another OC to try and save his tenure, but DC's don't ever seem to pan out as successful NCAA FBS coaches, while former QB's do…just a few who have coached at that level in Sunshine State programs we are all familiar with:

Steve Spurrier (72% WP)
Mark Richt (73% WP)
Lane Kiffin (64% WP)

The anomaly, with state irrespective, appears to be Nick Saban, who was ironically a DB at Kent State of all places, and has a 79% WP.

How is this “millennial fashion?”
Coaches vote for CUSA players of the year. Only one coach in CUSA was below 40 last year.

I guess since he hurt his team badly, missed two games and is far below Robison stat wise but he still gets rewarded with CUSA player of the year. Go figure.

I would not give him his team's POY based on how he and the other twos killed a great season for La. Tech! Even with all the breaks we caught to win East, we would and should have been playing in Ruston game 13.

Their loss! :Big-Grin:

??

He had more yards per game, a better completion percentage, one less INT, and rushed for 224 more yards.

Could have gone either way. His only blemish was the in season suspention. Good numbers though

Yeah, not sure what that is supposed to mean.  He didn't give himself the award…

Agreed, wrong choice of words.  I should have said our take no responsibility for your own actions, blame others society.  Not just a millennial thing for sure.

GO OWLS!
