After a scary bottom of the ninth, the Owls make it out alive and force extra innings. Jackson Wenstrom with another spectacular catch as well.

Cade Parker took the term 'hot corner' literally and absolutely snagged that ball that was destined to be scorching for extra bases. What a play!

Stinks losing to an inferior usf club.  Starting pitching did their job this weekend, bullpen was decent up until game 3. Got a couple guys slumping offensively right now which isn't helping anything. Will we get it all synced up this year at the same time remains to be seen.

We've now lost seven of our last 10 games…not a common streak for FAU baseball.

Despite a solid effort from the bats and Javi Rivera's best start as an Owl, FAU drops their second series in a row, losing 6-5 in 11 innings to the USF Bulls.

The Rundown
  • Javi Rivera had the best start of his FAU career despite not picking up the win. He went 5.2 innings, allowed four hits and one unearned run, striking out three batters in the process.

  • Caleb Pendleton continues to be one of the best power bats on the team. He hit his team-leading fourth home run to put the Owls up 2-1 early on in the game.

  • Nolan Schanuel comes up huge for the Owls, hitting his third home run of the season to put the Owls up 3-1. He has a team-leading 23 RBIs.

  • Mitchell Hartigan is on a hot streak, hitting very well the last few games. He went 2-5 with an RBI that put the Owls up 1-0 in the first inning.

  • Jackson Wenstrom made a beautiful catch in the bottom of the ninth to keep the Owls' hopes alive. He has been one of the best defensive players on the roster thus far.

The Owls will be back in action on Tuesday, March 23 against the University of Miami. First pitch will be at 6:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on C-USA TV.

I predicted seven runs per game with a one and two record.  Instead we were 1 and 2 , with 3.3 runs per game. This was against a very average team. I can see the problem. But I can't fix it. Neither can the coaches.
