"The guys swung the bat really well, but more importantly played very good defense. Nolan Schanuel (photo above) caught two balls up against the screen - which is not easy. Tough place to play" - FAU Baseball Head Coach John McCormack on tonight's 10-2 FAU WIN over LA Tech.

Fresh off a dismantling of the Bulldogs to open the series, the Owls were the benefactor of a reverse pendulum swing on Saturday as they dropped game two of the trio 11-6.

Nolan Schanuel was 4-of-5 with a pair of 2RBI hits.

Florida Atlantic (29-18, 14-9) took a 1-0 lead behind a Gabriel Rincones solo shot in the first inning.

In a surprise move, the Owls started Marc DeGusipe, who threw the final inning of game one, but he lasted just a frame after giving up a two run shot.

Jacob Josey took over for DeGusipe, and ran into the exact same trouble, serving up a two run shot of his own and FAU found themselves in a hole down 4-1.

With the Bulldogs adding another run in the 3rd, FAU was in a prime position to answer with men on first and second and no outs, but went down in order thereafter.

Things didn't get any better for Josey (2.2IP, 6H, 6ER, 3K) in the next frame, as LTU swatted a double down the left field line to expand the margin to 7-1.

Coach McCormack immediately went to Sam Drumheller for the bailout. However, it was not before another run was plated.

Now down 9-1 in the 7th inning, the Owls finally got back in the scoring column, plating a pair of runs courtesy of Caleb Pendleton and Armando Albert, who each singled with two outs.

The bags were then loaded for Nolan Schanuel to continue denting the deficit and he delivered his third hit of the day, a 2 RBI double to left center.

LA Tech (33-16, 14-9) added a solo effort after the stretch.

The bases were loaded again in the eighth inning, this time for Pendleton in Florida Atlantic's 8th trip to the box, only to see a double play ended the scoring opportunity.

The Bulldogs added another homer in the 8th before Schanuel stepped up to deliver his second 2 RBI hit of the contest, a single into left that drive in Rincones and Albert.

FAU hit into fur double plays on the afternoon and left eight runners on base.

The Owls will look to take the series tomorrow morning at 11:30 EST.

Florida Atlantic picked up their 30th win of the season with an important 5-2 victory over LA Tech in the series finale on Sunday.

"Just a really good team victory, proud of the guys", said Head Coach John McCormack.

Catcher Nicholas Toney was 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and a home run, and Nolan Schanuel was 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI. Armando Albert also had an RBI.

Starter Tyler Burnham threw an effective six innings while giving up just one run on a Bulldog solo shot in his final frame. He allowed three hits, and walked four batters, but fanned seven.

Relief pitcher Robert Wegielnik finished out the final three innings for the Owls (30-18, 15-9 C-USA) allowing one run on two hits, and striking out five.

"Burnham and Wegielnik were fantastic - keep that offense to two runs, at home in that ballpark". McCormack said.

The Owls are now tied in Conference USA with the Bulldogs, having picked up one game in the standings with the series win.

FAU next travel to Fort Meyers for a Tuesday match-up at 6:30 PM to face FGCU before hosting Charlotte beginning Friday.
