Gressley Throws Nine Inning Three-Hitter in Win FAU beat Loyola 5-1 before defeating South Carolina 1-0 in a thrilling nine inning win on Sunday. The Owls (6-7) defeated Loyola 5-1 in a game that was suspended due to rain on Saturday. Action resumed with the score tied at one in the bottom of the fifth inning. FAU scored four runs in that inning, all coming on Kirstin Austins grand slam homerun. Taylor Fawbush retired the last six Rambler batters in order to finish her complete game. FAU and South Carolina met in the final game of the day. Audrey Broyles and Rose Gressley were matched in a classic pitchers duel for the entire game. Kimberly Petrovich scored the only run of the game when she scored on a suicide squeeze by Blair Bodenmiller, just ahead of a Gamecock tag. The Owls went 4-0 on the weekend. They return to action on Wednesday when they host Eastern Michigan at 6 p.m. Live stats will be available via GameTracker at fausports.com.
