FAUs volleyball team has enjoyed early success over last years performance thus far, but hit a speed bump today with consecutive losses, in sweeping fashion, in the UCF Classic on Friday. In the days first match, the Owls (6-4) were unable to recover from a Golden Knights (7-0) 15-5 run in the first frame , but inched closer in subsequent sets before losing 25-16, and 25-23. Results in the second contest against Jacksonville (3-6) would closely mirror the prior match with FAU being nudged again 25-23 in the first set, followed by 25-20, and 25-14 losses in subsequent frames. The Owls committed 14 service errors between the two matches. Kristyna Dzmuranova, who was a bright spot for FAU today, had 22 kills. Florida Atlantic will conclude play in the UCF Classic tomorrow when they take on Baylor at 11:30 a.m.
