Florida Atlantic University women’s basketball fell to Kent State 82-53 on Tuesday afternoon at the M.A.C. Center.
The Owls (3-8) fell behind early and trailed 29-13 with nine minutes to go until halftime. However, FAU went on a furious run and cut the gap to 35-33 before Kent State went on a 5-0 run to close the period to make the score 40-33 at halftime.
The Golden Flashes (8-2) took control of the game in the second half and outscored FAU 42-20 to put things away. Taisja Jones led all scorers with 20 points.
FAU was paced by Lyrell Barfield who scored 14 points on 4-of-8 shooting. Breana Turner and Teri Stamps each scored 11.
The Owls return to action on December 29 against ULM at 7:00 p.m.
