Florida Atlantic goalkeeper James McCormick had five saves, but surrendered two goals, as the Owls lost to Florida International 2-0 on Saturday night.
The first half was a defense battle with just seven shots between the two teams.
However, the Golden Panthers took the lead in 66th minute of the match when Nicolas Rodriguez's free kick found Jahbari Willis open for a header to put FIU on top 1-0.
Rodriquez later scored his second goal in the 89th minute when McCormick was beaten by a ball to the far post.
Rocco Pecora tallied three shots for FAU offensively in the loss.
Florida Atlantic (2-6) wraps up a three match home stand next Saturday against Northern Illinois at 7 p.m.
