The #FAUFab15 Is Offcial

After much anticipation, Head Coach Charlie Partridge put the icing on his second class today - one which has been consistently dubbed as the Fab 15, or #FAUFab15 on social media and various outlets covering the Owls.

Accentuating the group is a number one Conference USA class ranking on the scouting site 247 Sports, and two flips from local rival Florida International in that of offensive lineman Richard Williams and safety Ocie Rose.

Rose waited until this morning to announce his change of plans, which were contrasted by an FIU banner sitting in front of him.

FAU also had to fend off larger programs for some members, including Daniel Parr, a quarterback from Dwyer High School who Partridge credited with a key role in solidifying matters.

"He (Parr) galvanized our recruitment", said Partridge of the sought after signal caller.

The total class announced contains 27 members, including three which have already enrolled at FAU and include Parr. It is evenly split with thirteen players on the offensive side of the ball, and fourteen players on the defensive side.

Florida Atlantic signed a total of 24 players to letters of intent on Wednesday.

“I’m excited about this class,” said Charlie Partridge. “By area we focused on the I-4 corridor south. We ended up signing 20 players from that area. Also, we addressed the needs of our football team. We knew that we needed certain positions, some more than others in terms of numbers but, we addressed all the needs of the future."

The class is comprised of six from Palm Beach County, the highest concentration from FAU’s home county since the inaugural class in 2000. Five players hail from Broward County and three from Dade County. In total, 20 of the 27 are from Orlando/Tampa south, only surpassed by the 2000 class.

Wide receiver Ladante Harris (pictured) of Sebring, FL was one of the instate signees. The day was a special one for him.

"It means a lot to be apart of a class like this with guys with the same mind set going into the FAU program", said Harris. "I'm going to bring my all on and off the field - football field and classroom - no matter what give my all."

But the Owls also headed west to help fill the trenches, earning pledges from offensive linemen Jack Breshears of Batavia, IL, and Bryan Beck of Franklin, WI.

"I'm excited to be a part of such a historic recruiting class, it's an honor and a blessing", expressed Breshears of his signing. "I plan to use my size, power, extreme aggression, and mobility to add value to the offensive rushing attack, and pass protection schemes."

The 2015 class will be a part of FAU’s first FBS schedule that features six home games - three games versus in-state opponents, three first-time opponents, and eight 2014 bowl-eligible teams.

“This is a group that has a powerful list of offers, if you look back at their time in the recruiting process", remarked Partridge. "That was not a motivator of who we recruited but shows you the level of talent that we have in this class.”

However, being the fervent motivator, and constant crafter of relationship development he is, Partridge will likely look to trump matters again next year. In prelude, as soon as the books were closed on today's fax machine activities, tweets were already abounding in proclamation of what's in store.

It truly was a great day to be an Owl.
