FAU & ESPN Radio Reach Broadcast Agreement

Florida Atlantic University Athletics has reached a multi-year agreement with ESPN Radio to broadcast its football and basketball games on-air, as well as market the entire FAU athletics department. The football games will be broadcast on ESPN 760 AM in Palm Beach County and southern Martin County, and on ESPN 1400 AM in Broward County. FAU men's basketball games will be carried by the flagship station ESPN 760 AM.

"We are ecstatic to partner with Florida Atlantic University and align ourselves with a rapidly growing university," said Steve Politziner, ESPN 760 general manager. "We are committed to bringing our listeners the best in local sports coverage and play-by-play and FAU football and basketball is the perfect way of doing so."

The FAU football team has back-to-back bowl titles and will seek its third bowl appearance beginning on Saturday, September 5 when the squad travels to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Before the action on the gridiron has heard its last whistle, action on the basketball court will begin. The men's basketball schedule is also slated to air on ESPN 760 AM, beginning on Friday, November 13 when the team plays host to Florida Tech. The broadcast schedule also will include the weekly FAU Sportspage Call-in Radio Show featuring FAU Head Football Coach Howard Schnellenberger, Head Men's Basketball Coach Mike Jarvis and other selected coaches.

"ESPN 760 has stepped forward in a true partnership fashion," said Craig Angelos, FAU's athletic director. "FAU Athletics offers a great collegiate game experience and ESPN has a brand that is second to none. With ESPN 760 as our radio flagship station, the South Florida sports fan will hear our games and the combined marketing efforts will provide added exposure for the University."

In addition to the broadcasts, ESPN 760 AM will fully integrate FAU sports into the station's programming and promotion including: on-air/online imaging, onsite events, enhanced coverage of games and practices, and multimedia advertising to promote its association. The multi-year agreement was reached by FAU's athletics and its marketing partner Nelligan Sports Marketing.
